2. You will see a section that has two columns on the left is the links for the Team Room on the right are the
links for the Chat Rooms
1. To get to the Team Rooms click the "Communications" button on the Planning Process Home Page.
3. Click on the approrpriate Task Force Team Room and you will go into the Room.
4. You will notice the "menure" to the left listing the categories of documents and other Team Room Information.


6. Then if you double click to open any of the documents (or to initiate any other action such as editing the member information in the "Team Room Overview" you will be aksed to provide your Lotus Notes login name and password.

7. Just enter your name and password and then you are "in".
8. To add a new document to the Team Room files jist click "New Document" 
and to add a response to someone else's document just click "New Response" 
9. You may even want to begin using the calendar 
10. In order to make a notation in your calendar or someone else's calendar select "New Document" and then select a "Document Type" ("Meeting" will automatically
make a notation in someone's calendar) and/or "Action Item" under "Category" 
11. Make sure you select someone, yourself or everyone from the list of team members

and fill in the "Date" "Time" "Duration" and "Location" information before you click ![]()
12. If you find yourself running out of room at the bottom of your screen and or need to collapse the categories on the left
just double click any of the bold category types and they will open and close as you want.
2. Then the Java applet will begin and present you with a sign in box 
3. Simply type in your first name (real names are preferred so everyone knows who is "takling") and click "the "Connect" button. (putting in your e-mail address is optional).
4. Once in you will see a set up like this:

5. You will note the address of the chat site is in your browser's address bar. To "speak" in the room you only have to type your message in the "box" at the bottom and hit the return/enter key when you are done typing your thoughts.
6. On the right it lists one user right now "Scott" but as the room fills up then everyone who is in the room will be listed there.
7. Look at the short conversation captured below. This is what "Scott" would see. He would see the contributions of Becky and Scout noted with their names prefacing their remarks. But he would not see his name anywhere for the computer assumes he remembers who he is.

8. There is a much fuller and more robust version of this chat program -- mIRC available to any and all of you free. You can down load it to your computer by clicking HERE and THEN selecting the "Download mIRC" option.

10. If you download and install the program, you must remember to join the right channel to join the conversations of your Team Mates.
11. So when the "mIRC Channels Folder pops up and askes you to type in the channel you want to join

make sure you type in the right channel name for the channel everyone else is going to.
12. The channels are ingeniously named. The channel for Task Force #1 is "TF1", and the channel name for Task Force #2 is "TF2" etc.
